Update on school plans for re-opening

Thank you for all your co-operation during this difficult time.

Following on from the latest government information, we will only be open for years Reception, Y1, Y6 and Saplings (Nursery).

The safety, health and wellbeing of everyone in the school is, of course our highest priority. To prioritise the safety of our pupils and staff, we are not able to accommodate all the year groups the government has identified immediately. A phased opening will be taken that is subject to a continuous risk assessment, so may change for safety reasons if necessary. The time school starts and ends for each year group will also be different to normal school hours.

Full details of our plans can be found here

If your child is in one of these year groups and coming back to school they must be in full time. Home learning for those year groups not returning will be streamlined to make it manageable for teachers.

We may have some capacity to take siblings from other year groups and we will also look at individual cases if you are a key worker and need your child to come back to school. Please contact Kirsty if you feel you need a place for your child.

I am sorry but due to Government guidelines it does mean we won’t be taking back years 2, 3, 4 and 5 but we hope to see you all in September.

Thank you again for your understanding.

We should all continue to follow health guidance:

Welcome to Sandown Primary School Hastings

At our school we aim to develop all children so that they are "the best that we can be" by recognising and building upon their strengths, identifying their needs and ensuring that these are met.

Every child coming into the school brings with them a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the world around them, and together we aim to build on these skills and encourage them to develop a willingness and enthusiasm to discover more.
