โšฝ๐Ÿ† Hopkins Cup Tournament Update ๐Ÿ†โšฝ

What a day of football from our Year 5/6 teams today! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ”ฅ

The girls kicked things off this morning and showed incredible determination throughout the tournament ๐Ÿ’ชโšฝ After qualifying from their group into the Shield Trophy competition, they won their quarter-final on penalties ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ‘ before narrowly losing the semi-final in another tense shootout.

That meant a 3rd place playoff game ๐Ÿฅ‰ where the team showed amazing resilience. After going 1-0 down, Elsie scored a brilliant equaliser โšฝ๐Ÿ™Œ taking the game to yet another penalty shootout! This one went all the way to sudden deathโ€ฆ after 10 penalties each ๐Ÿ˜ฑ the girls held their nerve and WON, bringing home the bronze medals! ๐Ÿฅ‰๐ŸŽ‰

The boys then took to the pitch this afternoon and also qualified from their group into the Shield Trophy ๐Ÿ‘โšฝ In their quarter-final they completely dominated large parts of the game, spending most of the match in the opposition half and creating countless chances. Unfortunately, the ball just wouldnโ€™t go in and the game finished 0-0, meaning penalties decided it. Sadly, we lost 3-2 in the shootout.

The boys should be incredibly proud of themselves โค๏ธ Football can be cruel sometimes, and penalties never reflect the effort, teamwork and determination shown across the whole game. The way they supported each other, kept battling and represented the school was outstanding ๐Ÿ‘โšฝ Heads held high boys โ€” your performance today was brilliant and you should all be proud! ๐ŸŒŸ

A huge well done to everyone involved today โ€” excellent teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship shown all day long.
